Accessibilty Statement
What we have done
We have tried to make this web site as accessible as possible by incorporating a wide range of features to meet a variety of communication needs.
We have also followed the guidelines set out by the W3C and made sure that our code passes their HTML and CSS validation. This site passes HTML Strict validation which means that we have not used any code that has been depreciated with todays browsers.
If you do find any problems or would like to suggest ways we can improve the site, please contact us and your comments will be most welcome.
Text size and site colour schemes
To make this site easy to read we have provided a toolbar at the top of the page which allows users to change both the site text size and the site colour scheme.
We have used server side technologies to achieve this which means that we do not rely on users having certain software or add ons to be enabled on their computers.
All text sizes have been set in ems which also allows users to alter the site text sizes via options in their browser settings.
Images
All images on this site have descriptions or 'alt' tags to describe what the image is showing. This enables site readers to explain to users what the image is portraying.
Navigating the site without a mouse
Users are able to navigate the site by using the arrow keys to page up or down and select links or menu items by using the TAB key.
Breadcrumbs
A the top of each page under the menu there is a breadcrumb. This shows which page you are currently viewing and the path of how you arrived there.
At the top of the page is a link that allows users to skip straight to the main content on each page.
